The issue of possible confiscation of frozen assets of the Russian Federation is a complex one, since many contradictory factors must be taken into account. This was announced on June 11 by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

"This is an issue that is being considered. But this is a difficult question. There are many contradictory factors that need to be taken into account when making decisions," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to him, the British authorities will now enter into negotiations with the allies on this issue.

On May 9, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced that Denmark, France and Italy would purchase weapons for Kiev for €1 billion. He recalled that on that day, the EU announced its intention to allocate almost €1.9 billion from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation for military support of the Kiev regime.

Later, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz did not rule out that the new package could include a provision on the possibility of disposing of frozen assets of the Russian Federation in Europe.
