Russians have chosen holiday destinations for the holiday weekend in June

Most tourists prefer to relax inside the country, while the popularity of some destinations has noticeably changed compared to last year. OneTwoTrip, a travel planning service, analyzed Russians' preferences for the four-day holiday weekend from June 12th to 15th. Izvestia got acquainted with the results of the study on June 12.

74% of all air travel takes place in Russian cities. The average cost of a one-way ticket is 10,900 rubles, which is slightly cheaper than in June 2024.

Moscow remains the leader in demand: The capital accounts for 27.8% of all air bases in the country. St. Petersburg (13.0%) and Sochi (6.6%) also entered the top 3. Interest in Samara (+80%), Moscow (+40%) and Kazan (+20%) has noticeably increased, while demand for flights to Sochi has halved.

"The average price of an air ticket abroad was 16,570 rubles one way. Istanbul became the most popular foreign city (8.2% of all international orders), followed by Baku (4.9%) and Dubai (4.1%)," the analysts added.

The largest growth in demand was recorded in the following destinations: Dubai (+200%), Tashkent (+150%) and Almaty (+40%). At the same time, interest in Istanbul and Baku decreased by 30% and 5%, respectively.

77% of tourists plan to stay in Russian hotels, where the average room rate has reached 9200 rubles per day.

St. Petersburg topped the ranking of the most sought-after cities for living (18.5% of bookings), ahead of Moscow (11.0%) and Nizhny Novgorod (4.1%). The demand for hotels in Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg increased 1.5 times, while in Kaliningrad it decreased by half.

Abroad, a hotel room will cost an average of 16,100 rubles per day. Istanbul (+50% compared to last year), Minsk (+20%) and Barcelona (+40%) became the leaders in bookings.

Earlier, on April 18, the Association of Travel Aggregators (ATAG) and booking services reported on the growing demand for travel with children. According to Tutu, such bookings have more than doubled for the May holidays and 2.6 times for the summer. Ostrovok's family bookings for the May holidays accounted for 27% of all bookings, and for the summer — 37%.
