Sobyanin assessed the effectiveness of the allocated lanes in Moscow

500 km of dedicated lanes are already in operation in Moscow, and about 40 km more are planned to be introduced by the end of 2026, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said.
Thanks to the allocated areas, the speed of urban transport has increased 2-4 times, and the travel time for passengers has been reduced, the mayor emphasized in his Telegram channel.
"It was and remains important for us to provide passengers with the opportunity to quickly and comfortably get by public transport to their place of work, accommodation, and recreation," Sobyanin wrote.
The jubilee section of the allocated lanes will appear on the North-Western Chord — at the intersection of Bolshaya Akademicheskaya St. with Pryanishnikov St., the mayor of the capital said. There will be 7 routes, including the e24 trunk express connecting Belovezhskaya Street and Petrovsko-Razumovskaya metro station.
The dedicated lanes make it possible to reduce accidents by an average of 25%, Sobyanin noted. They are used by 85% of bus and electric bus routes, ambulances, fire protection services and other special vehicles, which significantly reduces travel time to the call points.
Moscow is the leader among European cities in terms of the number of dedicated lanes introduced. 720 urban and more than 320 suburban routes run on them in the capital. The most effective is a dedicated parking lot on Staraya Basmannaya, Spartak and Bakuninskaya Streets, which was introduced in 2023: travel time was reduced from 36 to 18 minutes.
