Comprehensive work to reduce the amount of poplar fluff is taking place in Tyumen. This was announced on Wednesday, June 11, in the official public page of the city administration on the Vkontakte social network.

A large amount of fluff is noted in the KPD area in the Leninsky Administrative District. Balsamic poplars mostly grow there. They are systematically subjected to rejuvenating pruning to reduce down formation. For example, from 2022 to 2025 alone, it was carried out for 14 thousand poplars along Belinsky, Rizhskaya, Shcherbakov, Parfenov, Parkhomenko and others streets.

Also in recent years, gardeners have been planting introduced varieties of male pyramidal poplars. They do not form fluff. It will take more than one year to replace the old trees, writes the news agency " <url>".

At the same time, experts emphasize the ecological importance of poplar. It emits several times more oxygen than other tree species and effectively cleans the air from dust and dirt. Thus, one poplar is able to process up to 70% of street dust, and a large tree can absorb up to 40 kg of soot per year.

Earlier in June, it was reported that a new boulevard would appear in Tyumen at the intersection of Alabashevskaya and Timofey Karmatsky streets. Pedestrian paths will be laid there, a skate park will be equipped and art objects will be installed.
