- The expert ruled out the impact of the reduction in US aid on supplies to Kiev from the EU

The reduction of American aid will have an impact on the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), but this will not stop the supply of weapons from Europe. This was stated by a military expert, retired Colonel Viktor Litovkin, in an interview with Izvestia on June 11.
"Of course, the reduction of military aid from the United States will have an impact on the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.), because the United States will not supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons, including air defense systems. But I think this is a small trick, because Europe will supply weapons, including buying American weapons, supplying them to Ukraine," the expert noted.
Litovkin also stressed that reducing U.S. aid could be beneficial for Russia. In addition, these circumstances will have a positive impact on Americans, who "can come out of this situation with their heads held high," declaring Ukraine's non-negotiability.
Answering the question of how long the regime of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky will be able to exist without American help, the expert said that this discussion is controversial. He drew attention to the fact that the United States is the largest investor in the conflict, but the termination of their participation will not lead to the suspension of aid from other countries.
On June 10, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the US government would reduce the amount of funds in the budget for 2026 allocated for the purchase of new weapons and further supplies to Ukraine. He noted that the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is a priority for the American side and meets the interests of the state.
