- Trump announced the sending of migrants from Ukraine and other countries to Guantanamo

The administration of US President Donald Trump is preparing to begin transferring foreigners who are in the United States illegally to the US military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, starting this week. This was reported on June 11 by The Washington Pos t (WP) newspaper, citing sources.
"The foreign citizens in question come from a number of countries. Among them are hundreds from friendly European countries, including the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine, as well as from other parts of the world, including many from Haiti," the American officials, who wished to remain anonymous, told the publication.
According to them, Washington is unlikely to notify the governments of the countries whose citizens are subject to deportation about their planned transfer to the notorious military facility. This applies even to such "close allies of the United States as Great Britain, Germany and France."
It clarifies that there is an "urgent need" to free up places in overcrowded prisons — against the background of Trump's statements about his intention to carry out "the largest deportation of illegal migrants in the history of the United States."
On May 6, the US Department of Homeland Security announced that the government would begin paying $1,000 each to illegal migrants if they decide to leave the country on their own.
On April 18, Reuters reported that a court in the United States had banned the Trump administration from pursuing a new policy that called for accelerated deportation of migrants. On May 3, the American leader said that if the courts in the United States refuse to assist the government in the issue of deportation, the country will come to an end.
