In Yakovlevsky district of Primorsky Krai, a dog attacked a five-year-old girl. A criminal case has been initiated, the regional SU of the IC of Russia reported on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, June 11.

The incident occurred on June 9 in the village of Varfolomeyevka. According to the prosecutor's office, a pet dog attacked a girl born in 2020. The child received bite wounds in the area of the right shoulder and shin.

The police arrived and identified the owner of the animal, writes PrimaMedia news agency. The man was interviewed.

"At the time of the arrival of the police, the animal did not show aggression, and therefore there was no reason to eliminate it," the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Primorye reported.

A criminal case has been opened. UK investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The department also notes that the injured girl received medical assistance.
