How to relax in summer-2025
Non-working days on holidays mainly apply to people who work five days a week with two days off (Saturday and Sunday).
In June 2025, Russians will have 19 working days and 11 days off, including one official holiday — Russia Day, June 12. This day falls on Thursday and is a non-working day. Due to the postponement of the weekend from Saturday, March 8 to Friday, June 13, a long weekend is formed in the middle of the month — from June 12 to June 15 inclusive.
Thus, Russians will be able to rest for four consecutive days: June 12 (a holiday), June 13 (a portable day off), as well as the usual weekends on June 14 and 15. The pre-holiday day on June 11 is considered to be shortened by one hour.
Working days in June are 2-6, 9-11, 16-20, 23-27 and 30 June. Weekends are on June 1, 7-8, 12-15, 21-22 and 28-29. In general, thanks to the holiday and the postponement of the weekend, the second week of June is short — only three working days. This schedule complies with labor legislation and allows Russians to plan their holidays and work, taking into account public holidays and weekend postponements.
The length of the working week and the working time rate depend on the field of activity, the specific enterprise and the employer. In June, under different operating modes, the standard working time will be 151 hours for a 40-hour week, 135.8 hours for a 36—hour week, and 90.2 hours for a 24-hour week. This variation is due to the peculiarities of labor organization in various industries and working conditions.
Of the 31 days in July, 23 will be working days and eight will be weekends. July, along with October, will be one of the months with the highest number of working days in 2025. It is believed that from a financial point of view, it is advantageous to take a vacation in July, given the cost of a day's work and the amount of vacation time.
There are also 31 days in August, but only 21 days will be working, and 10 days off. No holidays or long weekends are expected in the last month of summer.
How to relax in the fall: the first six-day working week in 2025
Autumn marks the beginning of the school year for schoolchildren and students. No additional holiday weekends are expected in September. In total, in the first month of autumn, citizens will work for 22 days and rest for eight.
There will be 23 working days and eight days off in October. According to the production calendar, the first and only six-day working week in 2025 for Russians working on a five-day schedule will be from October 27 to November 1. At the same time, Saturday, November 1, is a shortened working day on the eve of National Unity Day. This will be followed by three days off: November 2, 3 and 4.
Holidays provide an opportunity to relax and spend time with your family. Many Russians will use this time to recuperate and prepare for new professional successes, experts say.
How to relax in winter
In December, you will have to work 22 days and rest for nine days. The last working day of the last month of 2025 will be Tuesday, December 30th. Wednesday, the 31st, will be a non-working day. Then the New Year holidays of 2026 will start, they will last until January 8.
Postponement of days off in 2025:
— January 4 (Saturday) — May 2 (Friday).
— January 5 (Sunday) — December 31 (Wednesday).
— February 23 (Sunday) — May 8 (Thursday).
— March 8 (Saturday) — June 13 (Friday).
— November 1 (Saturday) — November 3 (Monday).
Shorter working days in 2025:
— Friday, March 7 (on the eve of International Women's Day).
— Wednesday, April 30 (before the Spring and Labor Day).
— Wednesday, June 11 (before Russia Day).
— Saturday, November 1 (before National Unity Day).
On the eve of the holidays, the working day is reduced by an hour.
How will the holidays be paid for?
The employee's salary is paid in full, regardless of the number of working days or holidays per month. Work on weekends and holidays is paid at least twice or compensated by time off in agreement with the employee.
Holidays that coincide with a vacation are not paid and are not taken into account when calculating vacation pay, so such a vacation will be longer, but with less pay. In 2025, July and October are the longest in terms of the number of working days (23 days each), which makes them the most profitable time to take a vacation in terms of vacation pay. The least profitable holidays will be January, May, June and November.
