Russia is ready to provide assistance to Iran in the context of the export of excess nuclear material. This was announced on June 11 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"If the parties deem it necessary, Russia will be ready to provide such services," he said at a briefing.

On the same day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia could export excess nuclear material from Iran for its further adaptation to the production of fuel for reactors. He stressed that the time for an agreement has not yet been lost.
