Moscow provides "comprehensive support" to residents who have partially or completely lost their self-service skills, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

According to him, the city has new standards for providing assistance to citizens in need of long-term care. About 90 thousand single elderly people and people with special needs receive social assistance at home. They are provided with more than 20 services, including cooking, delivering medicines, and accompanying them for a walk.

An application for home-based care is submitted online at mos.ru .

A network of inpatient social institutions of a new type has been created in Moscow — 24 centers, including gerontological, gerontopsychiatric and social homes. Five social homes have day care units for adult Muscovites with mental disabilities: they can attend classes during the day and return home to their loved ones in the evening.

Since 2022, a "Kinship Care School" has been operating in the city for Muscovites who take care of their loved ones themselves. Over three years, more than 3.5 thousand people have participated in the project.
