The NATO member states refused to mention Ukraine in a joint statement of the upcoming summit of the alliance in The Hague at the end of June. This was reported on June 11 by Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources.

"The one—page declaration focuses exclusively on defense spending, which is in stark contrast to last year's statement, which ran to more than 5,000 words and included a promise of long-term security assistance for Ukraine," the material says.

In addition, the text does not mention China, although earlier the bloc had pointed to an alleged threat from it.

Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, said on May 27 that NATO should stop expanding and stop participating in the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, according to him, it was the actions of the alliance that provoked competition in the field of security.
