Eight suspects of organizing illegal migration have been detained in the city of Dmitrov, Moscow region. This was announced on Wednesday, June 11, by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow Region, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Dmitrov city district, detained eight suspects in organizing illegal migration," Volk said.

According to her, the offenders had been looking for foreigners who illegally stayed in Russia for two years. For example, migrants were given fictitious documents for a fee and helped with temporary registration.

Thanks to the work of the police and Rosgvardiya staff, the alleged organizer of the scheme, a 38—year-old native of one of the Central Asian countries, was detained, Volk said. Besides him, seven other suspects were detained, who turned out to be from neighboring countries.

It is specified that during searches in the apartments of the defendants, passports of foreign citizens, stamps, stamps for marking and their impressions, cash and cash registers were found and seized.

A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration by a group of persons by prior agreement").

"The defendants have been given a preventive measure in the form of detention," concluded Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry.

Earlier, on June 10, it was reported that six people in Primorye would stand trial after organizing the illegal migration of 198 foreign citizens. According to the scheme, foreigners received secondary school diplomas without attending classes.
