The administration of US President Donald Trump intends to eliminate the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) terrorism prevention program. This was reported on June 10 by the NBC News channel with reference to the staff of the department.

"The budget of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, presented to Congress last month, cancels the $18 million grant program for the prevention of terrorism," the publication says.

It clarifies that the terrorism prevention program "does not meet the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs."

At the same time, former and current employees of the department told the TV channel that the program had repeatedly helped prevent a number of terrorist acts.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported that the U.S. State Department plans to introduce an artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot to form commissions responsible for annual promotions and personnel changes.
