Police detained a suspect in organizing illegal migration in Irkutsk.
Police officers have detained a woman in Irkutsk suspected of organizing a channel for illegal migrants to illegally enter and stay in Russia. This was announced on Wednesday, June 11, by the press service of the regional Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
"According to investigators, since 2019, a 42-year—old local resident has been concluding fictitious employment contracts with foreigners for monetary remuneration, and also registered migrants at her place of residence and in her dorm room," the agency said in a Telegram channel.
A resident of Irkutsk involved her roommate in a criminal scheme, for whom she signed title documents. She estimated the cost of illegal services from 1 to 7 thousand rubles.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of organizing illegal migration using information and telecommunication networks (paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The defendant was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.
Earlier, on May 29, a criminal group in the field of illegal migration was detained in Yekaterinburg. The group members were looking for migrants who needed fictitious registration.
