A chapel will be built in Zheleznovodsk on the site of a destroyed temple.
The chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is planned to be built next to the Ostrovsky baths in Zheleznovodsk (Stavropol Territory). The Intercession Church was previously located there, but it was destroyed, the press service of the city administration reported on Tuesday, June 10.
Specialists have already started surveying the site on which the facility will be located. We are currently looking for possible investors who are ready to support the project.
"The construction of a chapel at this landmark site will be an important event for the spiritual life of the city and will help preserve the cultural heritage of the resort town of Zheleznovodsk," said Evgeny Bakulin, the head of the resort.
According to the StavropolMedia news agency, the chapel has already received a blessing from representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Theophylact of Pyatigorsk and Cherkessk.
Earlier it was reported that Zheleznovodsk received the status of a city of military historical heritage. Thus, the authorities want to celebrate the resort's contribution to the rehabilitation of military personnel during the Great Patriotic War.
