Moscow named the best TV series according to the version of "TEFI" 2025

The 2025 TEFI National Award, awarded for the highest achievements in the field of television arts, has ended in Moscow. The award ceremony in the Series category was held on June 10 at The Carlton Moscow. The record holder in the number of nominations was the NMG Studio crime drama "The Word of a Kid. Blood on the asphalt." The project received four "TEFI" out of eleven possible ones: "Drama series", "Scriptwriter of the series", "Producer of the series", "Director of the series".
The award in the Best Supporting Actor category was posthumously presented to Roman Madyanov for his role in the TV series Union of Salvation. The actor died in September 2024. Other winners include "Plevako" ("Best Historical Series"), "The Last Hero. Legacy" ("Best Comedy Series") and others.
The REN TV detective project "The ZIG ZAG Gang" competed for the victory in five nominations at once. Its events unfold in besieged Leningrad in the winter of 1941. In the worst time of famine, the ZIG ZAG group begins to operate in the city, whose members forge ration cards and profit from the suffering of people.
— Being nominated for "TEFI" is a big responsibility for me and a big challenge, because the really best TV series are presented here. And the fact that our film "The ZIG ZAG Gang" got into the nomination is already a big sign for me. Why did this happen? First, there is a historical topic that has not been previously disclosed. This film has an educational component about little-known pages of our history. Secondly, this is a wonderful scenario where powerful characters and figures are developed. There is a collision between them that causes a spark. And then, everyone who participated in the production put a lot of work into it to make it high-quality and interesting. There was a lot of support that I felt on the court. It must have been transmitted to the screen," Vitaly Vorobyov, director of the ZIG ZAG Gang, told Izvestia.
Another project of the TV channel, which was nominated for "TEFI" this year, is the urban fantasy "Librarian" based on the novel of the same name by Mikhail Elizarov, who won the Russian Booker Literary Award in 2008. An epic battle of good and evil unfolds on the screen in the spirit of The Chronicles of Narnia and Game of Thrones. Unsuccessful actor Alexei Vyazintsev travels to his father's hometown, who was mysteriously killed, to sell his apartment, but finds himself initiated into a secret community. His followers are ready to kill competitors in the struggle for the books of the long-forgotten Soviet writer Gromov, which give their owner superhuman abilities.
The TEFI National Television Award was established by the Academy of Russian Television Foundation on December 21, 1994. Since 2014, the award has been organized by the Committee of Industrial Television Awards. The winners are awarded a bronze Orpheus by Ernst Neizvestny. The goals of the TEFI Award are to establish professional guidelines in the field of journalism aimed at the benefit of the interests of society, to promote the educational and cultural function of the Russian media, as well as to identify bright and talented projects.
