A ban on the sale of alcohol on June 1 and September 1 may be introduced in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. If Knowledge Day falls on a weekend, the ban will apply on the first day of the week. This issue was discussed by deputies of the regional Legislative Assembly during a meeting of the Committee on Economics and Tax Policy.

The parliamentarians also discussed the possibility of limiting the time of sale of alcohol from 21:00 to 10:00. Currently, the ban is in effect from 23:00 to 8:00, it applies to retail outlets in high-rise buildings and extensions to them. The law is currently undergoing a regulatory impact assessment, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency.

"Initiatives where we have two days in which sales are completely prohibited, and the ban time is extended, are the next fairly moderate step," said Egor Vasiliev, head of the relevant committee.

As the deputy explained, such regulation is accepted by almost all subjects of Russia in one form or another. The option proposed in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is far from the toughest. For the first time, shopping areas near apartment buildings and those located at some distance will be demarcated.

On April 1, 2024, a number of new laws came into force in Russia. In particular, in the regions of the country, a ban on the operation of the so-called filling stations began to take effect. Now the regions can ban the sale of beer, beer drinks, cider, poire and mead in public catering outlets located in apartment buildings and adjacent territories, as well as limit the opening hours of these establishments.
