The United States announced a reduction in budget funds for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine

The US government will reduce the amount of funds in the budget for 2026 allocated for the purchase of new weapons and further supplies to Ukraine. This was announced on June 10 by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth during a hearing before the House Appropriations Committee.

"There is a reduction in this budget. You know, the current administration has a very different view of this conflict," he is quoted as saying on the Forbes YouTube channel.

At the same time, Hegseth clarified that the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is a priority for the United States and meets the interests of the state.

Kiev needs 2.5 million artillery rounds per year to conduct effective defensive battles.
