- The Russian Field Festival has gathered a record number of applications for participation
In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, the festival will be held in a symbolic place - Victory Park. The Russian Field Festival is supported by the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow.
On August 9, the XIV Interregional Creative Festival of Slavic Art "Russian Field" will be held in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the festival will reach a new level, both in scale and significance. For the first time, it will be held in one of the main symbolic spaces of Moscow, embodying the strength of the spirit, memory and historical unity of the country.
Preparations for the festival are reaching the final stage: the acceptance of applications has been completed, and this year an absolute record has been recorded — more than 626 applications from 69 regions of Russia, as well as from Uzbekistan and Serbia, a total of 4,976 people. The jury did a lot of work on the first online stage.
"We have not seen such a response yet, which is 47% more than last year. This is not just a record, it is evidence of how important it is for people to preserve and develop cultural heritage. Russian Field is becoming not only the largest creative platform, but also a real national movement uniting regions, generations and traditions," said Vitaly Suchkov, Head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow.
65 regions are allowed to participate in the final of the Poklonnaya Gora Festival. Among the applicants are 64 collectives, 227 commodity producers and craftsmen, 29 collections of fashion designers, 30 poets and readers, 17 gastrobrands. Among them are both renowned laureates of international competitions and aspiring talents, for whom the "Russian Field" may become the first major stage.
Alexander Shaganov, member of the competition jury, songwriter, winner of the Ovation National Award: "This year's patriotic poetry contest has gathered especially many strong works. There were many applications from poets and reciters from different parts of the country, and the jury had a difficult time — the level of participants turned out to be really high. We saw how sincerely and deeply people experience the theme of heroism, memory, and Homeland. Such contests are important — they help to preserve respect for the word, for history and to pass this feeling on to the next generation."
The festival annually brings together the best of Russia's diverse culture, from poetry and music to everyday life, crafts, cuisine and costume. In 2025, 12 themed venues will be open for guests. Among them are "Slavyanskaya Sloboda", "Field of Glory", "Musical Square" and "Musical Zavalinka", "Poetic Frontier", "National Cuisine", "Area of Regions", "Art Quarter" and others. This year's novelty will be the interactive educational space "Podvorye Otkritie", dedicated to the great geographical expeditions.
The Russian Field Festival will preserve the traditions and complement them with new formats. The program includes contests, performances, ethno—collection catwalks, a folk crafts fair, workshops, exhibitions, family outdoor games, thematic lectures, gastronomic shows and, of course, a live performance of Russian song and dance. An important place will be occupied by events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory: a historical reconstruction, a Victory Ball and a patriotic poetry contest "About Heroism, about the Motherland, about Glory" will take place on the "Field of Glory".
The competition part of the festival will be evaluated by leading experts from various creative fields. The final performances of the creative teams will be held on August 8 and 9. First, competitive performances of the teams in a closed format in the concert hall, and then on the main stage of the festival on Poklonnaya Gora. Everyone will be able to follow the events live — online broadcasts will be available on the official website, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki pages, as well as on the Culture portal.RF.
