Details of Artyom Timofeev's escape from Russia have become known
During its own investigation, Izvestia managed to find the car in which Artyom and Ekaterina Timofeev fled from Russia, as well as the owner of this car. The couple is wanted on suspicion of involvement in the drone attacks on Russian airfields, which occurred on June 1.
It turned out that the Timofeevs had left Chelyabinsk early on the morning of May 28 in a Toyota Hiace car belonging to Dmitry K., a private trucking company (name changed). His family sells vehicles and transports passengers. He finds clients by placing ads on Avito, offering, among other things, transfers from Chelyabinsk to Kazakhstan.
It was one of these ads, apparently, that the Timofeev couple turned to when they decided to flee Russia.
The car was identified by posts on social networks that Ekaterina Timofeeva left on the way to Astana.
On the day when Timofeeva wrote to her Telegram channel about the trip, that is, on May 28, Dmitry K.'s Toyota left for Kazakhstan. One of the traffic cameras recorded that the driver of the minivan exceeded the speed limit around 7 a.m. local time in the area of the city of Yemanzhelinsk on the A-310 highway.
From there, it is only about an hour and a half drive to the Bugristoe automobile checkpoint. Thus, at about 9 a.m. on May 28, the couple probably crossed the border with Kazakhstan.
Izvestia managed to contact the owner of the Toyota, Dmitry K. During the conversation, he confirmed that police officers had visited him, but declined to comment further on the Timofeyevs' trip, saying that he "could not disclose it."
