One of the lawyers for blogger Valeria Fedyakina, known as Bitmama, asked the court to return the case to the prosecutor's office for further investigation. This was reported on June 10 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Presnensky District Court of Moscow.

"The investigation is biased, it deliberately did not investigate the arguments of my client," said the defender.

Earlier that day, the blogger's defense asked the court to acquit the blogger of all charges. Fedyakina's lawyers believe that none of the episodes incriminated by the investigation could be proved.

Fedyakin is accused of stealing more than 2.2 billion rubles from clients. The defendant pleads not guilty to fraud on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

On May 22, the prosecutor's office requested 10 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony for Bitmama.

The blogger was arrested in September 2023 on charges of fraud in the field of investing cryptocurrencies.

The application for Bitmama was written by one of her investors, who handed her 6.7 billion rubles in cash. He is recognized as a victim. The criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale").
