Writer and poet Nikolai Shamsutdinov has died.

Soviet and Russian writer and poet Nikolai Shamsutdinov has died at the age of 75. This was announced on June 10 in the press service of the Department of Culture of the Tyumen region.

"Nikolai Merkamalovich Shamsutdinov, a Soviet and Russian writer and poet, public figure, member of the World Association of Writers, has passed away," the agency's page on the VKontakte social network says.

Shamsutdinov was born in 1949 on the Yamal Peninsula. He was a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR, the Union of Russian Writers, as well as an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. The writer published his very first poem cycle "Wide Winds" in 1976 in the weekly Literary Russia. During his career, he wrote more than 400 works and published 60 poetry books.
