Roscosmos has completed the production of a flight engine for the Soyuz-5 rocket

Roscosmos has announced the manufacture of a summer engine for the second stage of the Soyuz-5 rocket, which is expected to be launched in December this year. This was announced on June 10 by the corporation's press service.

"The engine is intended for use as part of a promising Soyuz-5 rocket. The Chemical Automation Design Bureau (part of NPO Energomash of Roscosmos) has completed the manufacture of a copy for flight tests," Roscosmos wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is reported that among the key features of the engine is its development completely in a digital environment, a thrust of 60 tons and operation on naphthyl + liquid oxygen components. In addition, it allows the cameras to swing in two planes and can operate when one of the units is turned off.

The corporation stressed that the engine has passed all control and technological tests.

On June 5, it became known that the specialists of the S.A. Lavochkin Scientific and Production Association (NPO) (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) The tests of the Luna-27 lander were completed in conditions close to real conditions. It is noted that these tests completed the necessary checks of the device, and also confirmed the operability of the landing device.
