The State Duma noted the versatility of the new national messenger

The national messenger, which is currently being developed in Russia, will become a multi-project capable of solving many user tasks. Sergey Boyarsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, told Izvestia about this on June 10.
"According to the plans, it is planned to create not just an alternative to foreign messengers, but a real multifunctional national platform, which will include, among other things, the messenger function, but will also have a lot of unique features, for example, interaction with government information systems," he said.
According to Boyarsky, users will be able to verify an account using a single authentication system — this will become a serious barrier for fraudsters.
"In addition, there will be an opportunity to create a digital ID for yourself, which can later become an alternative to paper documents," the deputy explained.
He added that with the help of the platform, it will be possible to use banking services, delivery services, as well as buy goods and services.
"Such national ecosystems are already popular abroad, Japan, Korea, and China have followed this path, where people prefer national messengers due to the integration of unique government services and capabilities, because it is more convenient and, most importantly, safer," he stressed.
On May 30, Boyarsky announced that the Chamber of the Russian Parliament had received a draft amendment on the creation of a national multifunctional digital service in the Russian Federation. It was noted that the bill provides for the further development of domestic digital services.
On June 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the transfer of government and financial services to the Russian platform.
