Moscow is ready to facilitate Minsk's work in BRICS and other international organizations. This was announced on June 10 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following talks with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov.
"We are ready to assist our Belarusian friends in deepening their cooperation in BRICS, where Belarus has received the status of a partner state," Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that Russia and Belarus will also develop partnership within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
On April 2, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov discussed with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich the republic's accession to the BRICS. Representatives of Moscow and Minsk also confirmed their commitment to expand ties within the framework of the association in the interests of forming a more just, equitable and comprehensive multipolar architecture of international cooperation.
