The State Traffic Inspectorate called on motorists to abandon risky driving, exceeding the permitted speed limit, sudden changes of lanes, overtaking and other dangerous maneuvers. Drivers control not only their personal lives and health, but also the lives and health of other road users. They depend on confident driving skills, well-being, self-control and discipline. You should not be distracted while driving, overestimate your strength and health, or drive in a tired or painful state.
In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate drew the attention of parents to the need to ensure the maximum safety of their children in the summer, a period when schoolchildren who are resting from classes spend a lot of free time on the street and, as a result, are more likely to get into car accidents. Lack of control over the behavior and leisure of children, especially in the evening, often leads to injuries or even death of young road users.
The ministry called for an explanatory conversation with children about the rules of safe travel on personal mobility equipment, bicycles and scooters, paying special attention to the need to dismount when crossing the roadway strictly along the pedestrian crossing, and not next to it.
"We urge parents to strictly monitor and prevent, and not encourage, attempts by children and teenagers without experience, confident driving skills and solid knowledge of traffic rules to use bicycles, scooters and personal mobility aids, and even more so to ride them on public roads before the age of 14," the deputy told Izvestia. Police Colonel Anton Belan, Head of the Department for the Promotion of Road Safety and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
