On June 10, the head of the State Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society, Yana Lantratova, sent an appeal to Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev to check the sale of ice cream containing caffeine and taurine to children.

"Despite the established labeling of the manufacturer "18+", sellers do not in all cases require documentary confirmation of the age of the buyer when selling such "energy ice cream". <...> I ask you to pay attention to the problem outlined," follows from the document available to RIA Novosti.

According to her, the possibility of bypassing the purchase of non-alcoholic tonic drinks by minors is being discussed on social networks. Lantratova noted that in such cases, children purchase ice cream, which contains, among other things, caffeine and taurine. In this regard, the deputy asked to stop such violations.

Earlier in the day, the State Duma proposed giving teachers the right to withdraw vapes from schoolchildren. It was noted that the problem of the use of nicotine-containing products and electronic nicotine delivery systems (vapes) continues to be one of the most acute in the educational environment.
