The Kremlin named the winners of the 2024 state awards in various industries

Mathematician Nikolai Kuznetsov, archaeologist Nikolai Makarov and physicist Maxim Nikitin have become laureates of the State Prize of the Russian Federation for 2024 in the field of science and technology. This was reported on the Kremlin's website on June 10.

"The winners of the 2024 state prizes in the fields of science and technology, literature and art, for outstanding achievements in humanitarian, human rights and charitable activities have been announced," the publication says.

It is specified that the names of the laureates were announced at a special briefing by Presidential aide Andrei Fursenko, presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky and Presidential Adviser, Chairman of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights Valery Fadeev.

The State Prizes of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for 2024 were awarded to three scientists. Among the laureates are mathematician Nikolai Kuznetsov, Head of the Department of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education St. Petersburg State University, archaeologist Nikolai Makarov, Director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and physicist Maxim Nikitin, a leading researcher at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (National Research University).

In addition, the state prizes of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art for 2024 were awarded to writer and playwright Yuri Polyakov and composer Alexander Tchaikovsky, artistic director of the federal State budgetary cultural institution Moscow State Academic Philharmonic.

The laureates were awarded for their outstanding contribution to the development of Russian culture, the preservation of folk traditions and the promotion of academic art.

In addition, the State Prize for Achievements in the field of charity was awarded to ophthalmologist-surgeon Georgy Stolyarenko, General Director of the Center for Diagnostics and Surgery of the Posterior Department of the Eye.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Academician Alexander Chubaryan the State Prize for Achievements in Humanitarian Work.
