- Israel's interception of the Madeleine vessel with activists sparked mass protests in Paris

At least 50,000 people protested in Paris over Israel's interception of the Madeleine vessel carrying pro-Palestinian activists. This was announced on Monday, June 9, by the France 24 TV channel.
"La France Insoumise (LFI) has organized meetings of supporters of Palestine in the capital [of France] and in many cities, including Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Rennes and Grenoble, to demand the 'release' of the Madeleine crew and the continuation of the humanitarian mission," the TV channel said.
The demonstrators chanted the slogan "Free Palestine!".
Earlier in the day, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg accused the Israeli authorities of kidnapping after Madeleine was not allowed into Gaza. In her appeal, she called on her family, friends and colleagues to put pressure on the Swedish government to achieve the immediate release of all participants in the mission, including herself.
Later, on June 10, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced the arrival of the activists of the Madeleine vessel at the airport for further deportation. They clarified that the consuls of the embassies of the countries of residence met the activists at the airport.
