A criminal case has been opened in Primorsky Krai on the fact of a ship fire.

In Primorsky Krai, a criminal case has been opened into the death of a man as a result of a fishing vessel fire. This was announced on Tuesday, June 10, by the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department (SU) for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The criminal case was initiated under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").

"The causes and source of the fire are being established," the agency said in a Telegram post.

A fishing vessel caught fire in the waters of the Golden Horn Bay in Vladivostok earlier that day. The fire area was 200 sq. m. One person died as a result of the fire. 70 employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and 17 pieces of equipment took part in eliminating the fire.
