U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy Jr. dismissed all members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This was reported by CNBC on Monday, June 9.

"A complete clean—up is needed to restore public confidence in vaccine science," Kennedy said.

The unit examines data on vaccines and makes recommendations that determine who is eligible for vaccinations and whether insurers should cover them, the TV channel clarified. They added that the current head of American healthcare is a staunch opponent of vaccination.

ACIP members are independent medical and community experts who make recommendations based on rigorous scientific review and evidence.

On May 2, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in the draft federal budget for 2026, proposed suspending most US contributions to the World Health Organization, UNESCO and other United Nations (UN) structures, including all voluntary transfers. In total, it is planned to reduce expenditures on the relevant budget line by more than $1.7 billion compared to 2025.
