The governor of California announced Trump's order to deploy military forces
The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, said that US President Donald Trump had ordered 2,000 more National Guard soldiers to be sent to Los Angeles. This is stated in the governor's message on the social network X.
"I have just been informed that Trump is sending 2,000 more Guard troops to Los Angeles. <...> This is not about public safety," the message says.
In his publication, Newsom called Trump a "dangerous president" and expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the head of state disrespects the military, who are already trying to stop the protests.
Mass protests in California began after a police raid to identify illegal migrants, during which 45 people were detained. On June 8, Trump ordered the National Guard to be sent to the state to stop the riots, which was condemned by the governors of 22 states, who regarded it as an "abuse of power."
