Today, the phone has become an integral part of our lives. On how to spend time with this gadget without harm to the neck and back on June 10, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by an osteopathic doctor, head of the author's osteopathy clinic Dmitry Simkin.

"The main rule is that the phone should always be not at eye level, but not under the chest, but somewhere in the middle. In the sitting and standing position, the neck tilt should be no more than 7-10 degrees, and lying down — no more than 15-20 degrees," the doctor noted.

For this position, Simkin advises using a phone stand. To relax the muscles in the neck and at the same time control the position of the neck while working with the phone, the osteopath recommends wearing an orthopedic collar (Trench collar).

"When you stand, try not to hold the phone under your nose, but also not on the weight. If you are holding the gadget with one hand, then it is better to lean on the front of the chest with your elbow and support it slightly with your other hand. If you use both hands, then press them to your chest," Simkin advised.

However, there are certain prohibitions. So, when working with the phone, it is undesirable to put your head on a pillow or armrest.

"It's better to lie on your back with your head on a low pillow. At the same time, the elbow should be slightly raised, preferably by placing a pillow under it. So that the phone screen is kept at a level convenient for the eyes," the doctor added.

Earlier, on June 1, doctor Mark Aleksanyan spoke about the methods of preventing back pain in the garden. The expert advises starting work in the garden with a warm-up.
