An ash discharge up to 6 km high from the Shiveluch volcano occurred in Kamchatka. This was announced on June 10 by the press service of the Main directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the region in the Telegram channel.
"Scientists recorded activity on the morning of June 10. The height of the ash emission was up to 6 km with the height of the giant himself 3283 m,"the ministry said.
It is specified that the plume from the emission is directed in a westerly direction from the volcano and goes deep into the Kamchatka Peninsula. At the same time, there are no settlements in the way of its movement.
The release was assigned an "orange" aviation danger level, the Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized.
Earlier, on May 29, in Kamchatka, ash was recorded rising from the slopes of Klyuchevsky volcano to a height of 6.5 km at a height of the volcano itself of 4.75 km. Klyuchevskaya Volcano is located 360 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
