Earthquake of magnitude 4.9 recorded in Kamchatka

An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. This was announced on June 9 by the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (USGS RAS).

It is noted that the tremors were recorded at 20:26 Moscow time, 112 km from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, near the Kronotsky Bay. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 111 km.

There is no information about the victims. No tsunami threat has been detected.

Earlier, tremors were reported in Japan and Pakistan.

Earlier, on May 5, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a 3.9 magnitude earthquake in the waters of the Kamchatka Strait. Residents of the settlements did not feel the tremor, the threat of a tsunami was not announced.
