As a result of a fire in the central district hospital in the village of Vorotynsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, 44 people were evacuated. This was announced on June 9 by the press service of the main directorate (GU) of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the region in the Telegram channel.
"The fire on the second floor was extinguished by firefighters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on an area of 5 sq. m. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Before the rescuers arrived, five employees and 39 patients evacuated on their own," the statement said.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical wiring of the air conditioner.
Earlier, on June 9, two pastry chefs died in a fire at a gingerbread factory in Moscow. Another 28-year-old employee was also injured. She was taken to the hospital with gorenje poisoning and released after receiving treatment. The fire area was 30 sq. m.
