In the UK, it was proposed to dispose of the bodies of the deceased in the sewer

In the UK, it was proposed at the legislative level to allow the disposal of the bodies of the deceased into the sewer. This was reported on June 7 by The Telegraph newspaper.
It is noted that instead of cremation or burial, experts suggest legalizing alkaline hydrolysis, better known as "water burial."
The method involves dissolving the body in a special solution, after which the solid remains (bones and teeth) are processed into powder — they are subsequently transferred to the relatives of the deceased. According to the publication, the liquid formed as a result of hydrolysis is disposed of through the sewer system.
"From the point of view of water quality, our study did not reveal any problems with discharge into the sewer," said wastewater specialist Lian Lundy.
Last year, the Nikkei newspaper reported that dozens of Japanese cities were selling precious metals that were obtained from the cremated remains of deceased people. According to the newspaper, ashes and large bone remains are usually given to the family of the deceased for burial, but after burning, ashes remain, which often contain metals of value.
