Stanislavsky's granddaughter Olga Alekseeva-Mardukhaeva died in Paris.


Olga Alekseeva-Mardukhaeva, the last granddaughter of director Konstantin Stanislavsky and the great-granddaughter of writer Leo Tolstoy, died in Paris at the age of 93. This was announced on the official website of the Museum of the Moscow Academic Art Theater (Moscow Art Theater).
"A man of crystal honesty and decency, the last of the representatives of the pleiad of Russian intellectuals. A nun in the world, she has always been the guardian of the memory of her grandfather, the great Russian director and actor, the founder of Russia's renowned theater, the Moscow Art Theater," the publication says.
According to the representatives of the museum, Alekseeva-Mardukhaeva contributed to the promotion of Stanislavsky's legacy in Europe. According to the Moscow Art Theater website, she also became one of the initiators of the installation of a monument to the founders of the theater in Kamergersky Lane, in 2014 she took part in its opening.
The farewell to Alekseeva-Mardukhaeva will take place on June 10 at the Three Saints Cathedral in Paris.
