The KHL talked about the changes in the rules of the game from next season

The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has made changes to the rules before the start of the 2025/26 season in order to increase the entertainment and dynamics of the game. This was announced on June 9 by the press service.
"Starting from the 2025/2026 season, the game will not stop if the puck hits the curved glass located at the end of each of the substitute benches and falls back onto the ice. Previously, in such a situation, according to rule 85, the game was stopped," the official website says.
It is clarified that now the team is prohibited from changing players on the ice before a throw-in if the goalkeeper presses the puck, which is directed by his own hockey player, and causes a stoppage in the match.
It is noted that amendments were also made to rule 57 "Footboard" regarding the appointment of a free throw. Now, if a player first plays the puck and then trips, then in such a situation neither a free throw nor a minor penalty will be awarded.
On May 21, in the fifth match of the final series of the KHL playoffs, Yaroslavl hockey club Lokomotiv defeated Chelyabinsk Traktor and won the Gagarin Cup for the first time in history. The game took place in Yaroslavl and ended in overtime with the score 2:1 (0:0, 1:0, 0:1, 1:0) in favor of the owners.
