Moscow authorities have promised to reduce traffic jams on the TTK
The Third Transport Ring (TTK) in Moscow should become less congested after the implementation of a large-scale redevelopment program, which began in 2018. When it is completed, the capacity on the key highway of the capital should increase by 15-25%, and congestion will be minimized. The Department of Transport announced this in its Telegram channel on June 9.
The Center for Traffic Management (TSODD) has prepared seven new redistricting projects. It is planned to complete the remaining sections in the next two years. Where there have been traffic jams, lanes and covered driveways are being added for convenient and safe driving.
Thus, as part of the program, additional lanes will appear on the outer sides in front of Leningradsky Prospekt and Zvenigorodskoye Highway, between General Dorokhov Avenue and Komsomolsky Avenue (on the outer and inner sides), between Yuzhnoportovaya Street and the exit to the MSD (also on both sides).
In addition, traffic will be divided on the outside in the area of Zilovsky Boulevard, transitional high-speed lanes will appear at the exit from Avtozavodskaya Street to the inside and on the outside in the area of Nizhegorodskaya Street.
On May 6, it was reported that traffic cameras in Moscow had become less likely to record traffic violations related to driving into designated lanes, lack of seat belts and lights off. The data center explains this dynamic by the "disciplining" effect of traffic cameras.
