The Board of Governors of the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) has agreed to Uzbekistan's accession. This was announced on June 9 by the press service of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It is noted that the head of the BRICS NDB, Dilma Rousseff, arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the events of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

"The Board of Governors of the Bank has agreed in principle to Uzbekistan's accession to the member countries of the New Development Bank," the head of state's website says.

They clarified that a program of priority joint projects worth $5 billion has already been formed.

In May, Colombia's ambassador to Moscow, Hector Arenas Neira, announced that the Latin American country would join the BRICS NDB this year. The launch of the process of Colombia's accession to the New BRICS Development Bank was previously announced by the country's President Gustavo Petro.
