The governor of California announced his intention to sue Trump.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced that he is suing US President Donald Trump over his decision to deploy the National Guard to Los Angeles amid protests against immigration policies. He stated this on June 9.
"He started fires and acted illegally to bring in the National Guard <...> We are suing him," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Newsom said that Trump's actions suggest that he can deploy the US National Guard to any state at his discretion.
Mass protests in California began after a police raid to identify illegal migrants, during which 45 people were detained. On June 8, Trump ordered the National Guard to be sent to the state to stop the riots, which caused discontent among the governors of 22 states, who regarded this step as an "abuse of power."
