The property of the ex-deputy head of the Department of Defense Vasenin for more than 31 million rubles was seized.

The investigation arrested the property of Oleg Vasenin, former deputy head of the property department for special projects of the Russian Ministry of Defense, worth more than 31 million rubles. This was reported on June 9 by the Main Military Investigation Directorate (GVSU) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

They recalled that Vasenin is accused of embezzlement of state property on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

"At the request of the military investigator, the court chose Vasenin's measure of restraint in the form of detention. Military investigators have seized property worth more than 31 million rubles," the GVSU Telegram channel says.

On April 28, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced the initiation of a criminal case on embezzlement of budget funds during the execution of the state defense order against Vasenin. It was established that in 2022, a contract was signed with Translom LLC for the provision of services for the acceptance of secondary raw materials. Subsequently, Vasenin provided deliberately false documents about the cost of the work and committed embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of over 240 million rubles.
