Deputy of the Latvian Seimas Roslikov commented on the criminal case against him.

In Latvia, any criminal prosecution today is an absolutely expected result for fighting for truth and justice. This was stated on June 9 by Deputy of the Latvian Seimas Alexei Roslikov, commenting on the criminal case against him.
"A criminal case has been opened against me. The State Security Service believes that my communication, my position towards the national association, the law they submitted, violates the law," Roslikov said in a video posted on social networks.
According to him, the law passed by Parliament "on the elimination of linguistic consequences of Russification" is criminal and infringes on the rights of Russian-speaking citizens of Latvia.
"Let's go ahead and fight. Any persecution today is an absolutely expected result for fighting for truth and justice. I have no reason to stop," the deputy concluded.
The Latvian State Television and radio portal LSM reported on June 5 that the Latvian Seimas removed Roslikov from the meeting for defending the Russian language. It is clarified that during the consideration in Parliament of the declaration "on the elimination of linguistic consequences of Russification", he opposed this project, stressing in his speech that a significant part of the population are Russians who speak their native language at home, while they are actively involved in the development of Latvia.
On June 9, it became known that a criminal case had been opened against Roslikov on suspicion of assisting Russia in its alleged "actions against Latvia" and "inciting national hatred and discord."
