The State Duma recalled the changes in pension payments in June
On the eve of the celebration of Russia Day, the procedure for paying pensions will be changed. This was announced on June 9 by State Duma deputy Alexei Govyrin.
"In June 2025, the pension payment procedure in Russia will be temporarily changed due to a public holiday. Russia Day, which is celebrated on June 12, falls on a non—working day, and this affects the usual schedule of pension payments," Govyrin said in an interview with RT.
The Social Fund of Russia will send funds ahead of schedule in order to avoid delays to citizens who receive payments from the 12th to the 15th of the month. So, the funds that were supposed to arrive after June 12 will be transferred on June 10 or 11.
"We are talking about standard monthly payments accrued through compulsory pension insurance," said Govyrin.
He also said that such payments will be organized centrally. They will affect not only pensioners who receive funds using bank cards, but also those who resort to postal delivery services.
On June 5, Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said that from July 1, Russian citizens who turned 80 years old will begin to receive a monthly doubled fixed pension payment.
