Lavrov pointed to the normalization of relations between Russia and the United States

Relations between Russia and the United States are in a more correct position than they were under the administration of the ex-President of the United States Joe Biden. This was announced on June 9 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Forum of the Future 2050.
"I think we are already in a more correct position, in a more normal position than it was in relations with the Biden administration, which <...> has blocked all channels of communication [with Russia]," he stressed.
Lavrov stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and American Leader Donald Trump have developed a working relationship. The Foreign Minister noted that during the negotiations, the presidents immediately begin to discuss the essence of the issues.
At the same time, the minister added that the United States, apparently, will not respond to Putin's proposed moratorium on the deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles (INF).
Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on June 8 that the dialogue between Putin and Trump had led to a shift in public opinion, and the contact had become an excellent opportunity for de-escalation. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 6 that it was important for Russia to maintain ties with the United States.
