The media announced the EU vote on a new package of anti-Russian sanctions on June 20

The European Union (EU) may vote on the 18th package of anti-Russian sanctions on June 20. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on June 9, citing sources.
"The EU is waiting for a signal about the introduction of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia," the newspaper quoted a senior diplomat as saying.
According to him, if the United States confirms at the Meeting of the Leaders of the Group of Seven its readiness for a coordinated approach to the issue of sanctions, a vote on the next package of sanctions may take place as early as June 20.
On June 4, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said that the EU intends to introduce a new package of sanctions against Russia at the same time as the United States in order to increase pressure on Russia. She stressed that the EU plans to include measures against Russian energy and financial transactions in the new package of sanctions.
Earlier in the day, Politico newspaper, citing Senator Richard Blumenthal, reported that the White House doubts the need for a new law on sanctions against the Russian economy. At the same time, according to Blumenthal, the position of the White House on the issue of sanctions may still change.
