One person was killed and five others were injured as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a cultural and leisure center in Rylsk, Kursk region. This was announced on June 9 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on the Granin cultural and leisure center in the Rylsky district. According to preliminary information, a 64-year—old man was killed in the attack on the village of Prigorodnyaya Slobodka," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Khinstein added that three men were among the injured, including the chief engineer and two guards at the center. They received shrapnel wounds, bruises and fractures. Two women were concussed. They are currently receiving medical care at the hospital.

In addition, according to the acting governor, the roof of the Granin Center caught fire as a result of the impact. The fire area was about 400 square meters, the fire is being extinguished. In addition, the roof of the cultural and leisure center, the glazing, and the facade of the museum building were damaged, Khinstein said.

Khinstein reported on June 8 that a civilian was injured as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the village of Karyzh in the Kursk region. The victim was promptly provided with first aid, he is in a moderate condition.
