In the village of Gospitomnik, Volgograd region, at night, the 35-year-old driver of a KamAZ dump truck, when turning away from the right shoulder, did not provide an advantage in traffic and collided with a cross-country motorcycle driven by a 15-year-old schoolboy in a motorcycle helmet. The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles.
The lack of control over the behavior and summer leisure of teenagers, especially in the evening and at night, often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users who do not have training in driving schools, as well as driving skills, the department said.
"We draw the attention of parents to the administrative responsibility for providing the opportunity to drive motor vehicles for children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category. The traffic police reminds parents to teach their children discipline and responsibility for their actions. Adult road users should demonstrate safe behavior on the road by personal example, as well as regularly remind minors of the need to strictly follow traffic rules," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.
