The RuKod Programming Championship has received international status

Starting in 2025, the RuKod International Algorithmic Programming Championship will receive international status and will be held annually. This decision is aimed at developing and popularizing programming, increasing the interest of young talents in programming as a professional activity. This is stated on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"In 2019, the idea of the RuCode festival was supported by a grant from the President of the Russian Federation. And thanks to the cooperation between the leading universities of our country, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, it was possible to launch a national standard of intellectual competitions within the framework of the festival. Last year, the championship entered the Russian Book of records as the most massive intramural programming competition. The active participation and support from our leading IT companies made a huge contribution," said Alexey Maleev, Head of the RuCode Festival Program Committee and Director of the MIPT Graduate School of Software Engineering.

The Ministry of Finance will coordinate the work of the championship, which has received international status. The project operator will be MIPT.

The concept and regulations of the championship will be approved within a month. The organizing committee will include representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, Rosmolodezh, authorities of several regions, as well as university rectors.

The first stage of the championship is scheduled for June-August. Additionally, algorithmic programming training camps will be held at the MIPT campus at the end of June. The second stage, the finals, will be distributed among full–time points based on regional and foreign universities. The superfinal will be held at Sirius University in October.

Participants from other countries will receive free visas with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
